Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe has lauded the Eastern Bar Forum of the Nigerian Bar Association for organizing a colloquium focused on Nigeria’s federalism and state legislative powers.

The event, themed “Nigeria’s Federalism & State Legislative Powers: Current Matters Viewed from a Sub-National Perspective,” aims to foster productive discussions on the challenges and opportunities within the country’s federal system.

In a statement released on Friday, Akangbe expressed his warm wishes to the Eastern Bar Forum, emphasizing the significance of the gathering in providing a platform for insightful deliberations. He conveyed his confidence that the discussions would inspire meaningful contributions toward strengthening governance at the sub-national level.

“I commend the organizers for their dedication to fostering intellectual engagement on such a vital issue,” Akangbe stated. “As we come together to share perspectives and ideas, I am confident that the deliberations will inspire meaningful contributions toward strengthening governance at the sub-national level.”

The senior advocate also acknowledged the organizers’ efforts in facilitating intellectual discourse on this crucial topic. He expressed his hope that the insights gained during the colloquium would contribute to shaping progressive legal reforms and policies for the benefit of the nation.

Akangbe concluded his statement by wishing all participants a productive and rewarding experience at the colloquium. “May the insights gained here shape progressive legal reforms and policies for the benefit of our nation. Best wishes for a successful event!” he added.
