Late Chief Okpakpor Used Law For Socio-economic Development of Delta State — NBA Condoles With Its Delta Branches

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has condoled with Delta Branch of the Association over the demise of one of its member, Chief A. P. J. Okpakpor, Esq., the first Attorney-General of Delta State.

In a message made available to TheNigeriaLawyer (TNL), NBA praised the deceased for using law as a tool for socio-economic development of Delta State.

The NBA mourns with the Chairmen and members of all the NBA branches in Delta State over the painful passing away of a distinguished and great lawyer, Chief A.P.J. Okpakpor, who passed on yesterday, Friday, the 10th day of July, 2021.

Chief A.P.J. Okpakpor was the first Attorney General of Delta State upon the creation of the State. He was also a prominent politician and community leader in Isoko land.

Chief A.P.J Okpakpor’s sojourn in the legal profession spanned over 40 years and was known to have used the instrument of the law as a tool for socio-economic development of the Delta State and his immediate communities.

On behalf of the National officers and members of the Nigerian Bar Association, the NBA President expresses his condolences to the leaders and members of Warri, Ughelli, Effurun, Udu, Oleh, Sapele, Asaba, Ogwashi-uku and Agbor branches, the family and friends of our departed reverred colleague.

We pray that the Almighty God grants him a peaceful transition and gives his family, colleagues and friends the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
