The Lagos State Judiciary has initiated a major administrative reshuffle of pending cases, with the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice K. O. Alogba, directing the immediate submission and reassignment of 22 non part-heard case files—a significant reduction from an initial 77 cases ordered earlier this week.

In a circular dated January 20, 2025, the Assistant Chief Registrar (Litigation), Adekeye N.A., acting on the Chief Judge’s directives, had urgently requested Hon. Justice O. A. Fadipe of the Ikeja High Court to submit 77 non part-heard case files within 48 hours.

Non part-heard cases refer to matters where proceedings have begun but are yet to conclude, often due to adjournments or administrative delays.

However, in a follow-up update, the judiciary revised the directive, slashing the number of required files to 22.

The streamlined list, now reassigned to Hon. Justice Soladoye, includes civil, criminal, and commercial disputes.
