Commenting on the reaction of the Sokoto State Government, Falana said beyond just closing the school, with the video evidence shared on Twitter, the master minders of the condemnable acts are supposed to have been arrested by now.

He noted: “We are not unaware that the Sokoto State Government has ordered immediate closure of the college and directed the Ministry of Higher Education and relevant Security agencies in the State “to commence investigations into the remote and immediate causes of the incident and report back to the Government”. However, since the barbaric incident was well recorded in the viral video on Twitter that is in circulation the culprits ought to be have been identified, arrested and arraigned in the Sokoto State High Court.”

The vocal rights activist who is the Chair of Alliance on Surviving Covid-19 and Beyond (ASCAB) also decried the alarming rate of jungle justice in Sokoto State, calling on the Governor of the State, Aminu Tambuwal to put an end to the scourge of mob violence and religious intolerance in the state through drastic action.
