Kenyan runner Emmanuel Naibei has won the 6th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

He finished in 2 hours, 11 minutes and 37 seconds to beat roughly 300 other marathoners on Saturday morning.

He claimed the grand prize of $30,000 for the 42km race.

Deresa Geleta of Ethiopia finished second while Demiso Gudeta also of Ethiopia was third.

In the female category, Ethiopians called the shot, winning the first and third slots.

Meseret Dinke was first while Celestine Jepchirchir of Kenya finished second.

Third place went to Desta Muluneh.

David Barmasai Tumo of Kenya had won the 5th edition of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon in 2 hours 10 minutes and 22 seconds.
