The Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Aliyu Mera, made the announcement after a stakeholders meeting in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday with representatives of 28 political parties. According to him, the early announcement is to enable political parties, stakeholders and the general public to prepare. He said that the commission would in due course, notify the stakeholders on further arrangements for the election. Mera solicited the support and cooperation of all stakeholders towards conducting a free, fair and credible council election. Twenty-eight political parties were present at the meeting.
