Kayode Bello Writes Amnesty International For Assistance In His Case Against Council of Legal Education (Nigerian Law School)

“ Sequel to my present ordeal of having been expelled from the Nigerian Law School, under the control of the Council of Legal Education, being a government agency, against my fundamental rights as contained in the attached court processes, I hereby request your support and assistance pending the conclusion of the case.” He also informed TheNigerialawyer that the reason for the assistance from the Amnesty International is for them to help him monitor the case. Meanwhile his case has been reassigned to Hon. Justice Mohammed of Federal High Court, in Maitama Abuja, although TheNigerialawyer was informed that his Lordship is on a two week break. TheNigerialawyer recalls that following the expelling of Kayode Bello by the Council of Legal Education, Kayode Bello had sued the Council for the enforcement of his Fundamental Human Rights of which an Exparte Motion was filed seeking for an order of Court asking the Council to allow him write his exams pending the determination of the substantive suit. TheNigerialawyer further recall that Hon Justice Quadri advised the parties to reconcile their differences. Sequel to the advice, the counsel to Kayode Bello had written a letter seeking for reconciliation between both parties, of which a controversy with respect to the applicant’s fixing of time, place and date was raised by the Council which was later addressed by Kayode’s counsel. ]]>
