Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Muhammad Sani Katu, SAN, has declared support for Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, in the race for President of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Katu, described as one of the respected leaders of the Nigerian Bar, said he has confidence in Akangbe’s ability to lead the Association.

In his statement, Katu said Akangbe possesses the capacity, competence and commitment required for the office of NBA President.

“I have confidence in his capacity, his competence and his commitment to the ideals of our Association. I endorse and wholeheartedly support Lateef Akangbe for the office of NBA President,” he said.

Supporters of Akangbe described Katu’s backing as a significant boost to his campaign, saying it further reinforces confidence in Akangbe’s experience, integrity and vision for the NBA.

They said Akangbe represents proven leadership and the possibility of a Bar driven by competence, integrity and renewed commitment to the ideals of the Association.

The statement urged lawyers to vote for Akangbe, describing him as a candidate capable of leading the NBA into what it called a new era of excellence.

Akangbe is contesting the NBA presidency under the campaign message, “Elevate The Bar”, with supporters insisting that “the NBA we deserve is possible.”
