The Kano State Government has mandated the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi 11, to commence the process of re-assigning the four Kano kingmakers as district heads of local governments in the Kano Emirate Council.

A a letter by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, dated March 2, 2020, listed the affected kingmakers, to include Alhaji Mukhtar Adnan, Alhaji Yusuf Chigari, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibrahim and Alahji Abubakar Tuta.
