Niger State High Court has issued an order exempting payment of default fees for filing of processes for the period in which JUSUN was on strike.

This was contained in the In a practice direction with N.S.L.N No. 11 of 2021, Niger State Practice Direction No.1, 2021, in the High Court of Justice of Niger State of Nigeria published in the state official gazette on 14th June.

It directed the exemption of payment of Default fees for filing of processes for the period of JUSUN Nation-Wide Strike from April 6, 2021, to June 14, 2021.

The Practice Direction  2021,  was signed by the Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Lami Bawa Bwari.

The Chief Judge made this order pursuant to Section 274 of the 1999 constitution and Section 116 of the High Court Law, Cap 53, Revised Law of Niger State, 1989.

TheNigerialawyer recalls that on 6th April, JUSUN embarked on a Nationwide Industrial action asking all members in various courts and states to shut down offices, departments.
