In a goodwill message, Akangbe praised the branch for choosing a theme that “does not flatter the times but interrogates it.” He noted that the survival of justice depends not just on legal procedures but also on public confidence.
“Justice, if it must endure, must wear both the robe of fairness and the face of public confidence. When judgments appear compromised or delayed, the temple of Justice trembles,” he stated.
Akangbe emphasized that the legal profession must take the lead in restoring faith in the judiciary through ethical conduct, reforms, and unwavering advocacy.
He concluded by wishing the branch a “thought-provoking and impactful Law Week,” applauding its commitment to addressing issues that directly affect the integrity of Nigeria’s justice system.
