Nigeria’s Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, has resigned sources close to her told Daily Trust.

It is not clear when she submitted her resignation letter.

According to our source, the resignation followed the allegation of not serving the compulsory National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, and obtaining a certificate that the NYSC have disowned.

The minister felt that her position is becoming untenable and is hurting the President in the run up to the 2019 election.

  1. This is a testimony to the fact that PMB does not rush to take decision. I’m sure he would have set up a committee to investigate the scandal and come up with a detailed report which guided him in taking a final and appropriate action on such sensitive matter that bothers on the integrity of the President in pursuing his anti corruption agenda. He is cool, calm and knows the damaging effect of making a hasty decision in a heterogeneous society like ours where opponents capitalise on every single error of omission or commission. Long live Baba!

  2. Its a pity. She has been up and doing.I believe that she is a victim of circumstances. If the papers of those in power are to be scrutinized i am sure there would be surprises.May the Almighty Allah deliver us Amen.

  3. I feel for her. She is a victim of our complex society whereby simple processes are made to appear so tasking and difficult to achieve. Otherwise she could have walked into NYSC herself to obtain her excemption Certificate without using an agent.

    • It is a pity. I value her honesty by resigning. This is not normally done by people from this side. I believe she was a victim of wrong counseling. She was good at her work. I wish her well.
