A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Jibrin Samuel Okutepa, SAN, has reacted to the video of Senator Elisha Abbo allegedly assaulting a lady in a sex toy shop.

The Senior Advocate said after watching the video of a Nigerian senator who allegedly slapped a lady on many occasions in a shop in Abuja, his mind went back to the state of nature.

According to him, in this state, political scientists told us, the mighty was right, life was short, brutish and nasty and there was no place for industry.

“The most amazing thing in the video was not only the slaps, which were dirtier than dirty but the boasts coming out of the mouth of this aggressor, a man who was selected or is it elected to make laws for orders and good government of Nigeria or any part thereof that, “I will close down this place”.

“I do not know in what capacity he was boasting of closing down the place. But in whatever capacity, the beating of that lady who was just pleading for calm was unfortunately too sad to be ignored by the authorities of Nigerian government.

“If we must be taken serious as a nation, the police authorities must swing into action immediately and arrest the culprit and charge him to court.

“The conduct of the said senator was not only discreditable, it was dishonourable.

There was nothing distinguished in what I saw displayed by the senator unless it was photo tricks.

Speaking further, he said that the political party upon which he was elected must wake up and set up a panel to investigate him.

“The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria must investigate him and melt out deserved punishment.

“His constituency must investigate him and initiate his recall. Nigerians must demand transparency in investigations and subsequent trial of this man.

“Nigeria cannot develop with this kind of attitude of people who are to make laws for us or those who are to enforce our laws.

“The policemen that obeyed the illegal orders to arrest the victim of that public assault and superintended over the beating must be interrogated and punished too.

“We must as a people demand that government protect us. Enough of impunity and public officers or servants brutality,” he said.
