The Students’ Human Rights Club of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has announced that it will hold a Human Rights Moot Championship in honour of Tajudeen O. Oladoja, Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

The event is scheduled for February 14, 2026, at 2:00pm at the Moot Court Complex, Faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

The Students’ Human Rights Club is an affiliate of the National Human Rights Commission.

In a letter dated January 28, 2025, and signed by Vice President II, Prince Yusuf Hassan, the club formally notified Oladoja of its decision to confer on him two prestigious awards.

“We write with great honour and respect to formally inform you of our decision to confer on you two prestigious awards,” the letter addressed to the Principal Partner at his Kaduna office stated.

The first is an Award of Appreciation, in recognition of Oladoja’s generous support and encouragement toward the organisation of the Human Rights Moot Championship to be held in his honour.

“Your support will greatly contribute to the success of the programme and will create a valuable platform for students to develop their advocacy and drafting skills,” the club stated.

The second is an Award of Commendation, in recognition of Oladoja’s immense contributions to the development of legal practice in Nigeria, his outstanding professional excellence, and his exemplary service to justice and humanity.

“These awards are a small token of our deep gratitude and admiration for your remarkable impact on the legal profession and the inspiration you continue to give to young lawyers and students,” the letter read.
