A leading candidate for the position of the NBA General Secretary in the forthcoming election, Adesina Adegbite popularly referred to as AA has chided candidates who use religion to campaign rather than contents of their manifesto, saying that they suffer from chronic inferiority complex and contributed to an dangerous and unfortunate development.

AA who gave a goodwill address in the recent Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN) NEC meeting held at the National mosque, Abuja, warned candidates, especially his opponents who are using religion to campaign to desist seem doing so forthwith. According to AA, this was a dangerous and unfortunate development that could mar processes.

AA alleged that an aspirant for the enviable position of general secretary was resulting to blackmail and campaign of calumny rather than focus on the content of his manifesto, and this was indeed dangerous. According to Mr. Adegbite, he was aware that a particular candidate for the General Secretary has been going about using religion to campaign and thereby whipping sentiments rather than selling his candidacy. He stated that any such candidate who did this suffered from chronic inferiority complex.

As regards his plans if elected NBA General Secretary, AA stated that he intended to be a General Secretary for “ALL NIGERIAN LAWYERS” and will manage the NBA Secretary using the finest efficiency, competence and dedication all aimed all birthing a Secretariat that enjoys global competitiveness and recognition.

In his address, Mr. Adegbite congratulated the National President, Past Presidents, NEC Members and all members of MULAN for sustaining the credibility of the Association thus far. He proceeded to wish all NEC members and participants journey mercies to their destinations.
