The Israeli military has confirmed that Iran launched more than 100 drones toward Israeli territory early Friday morning, marking Tehran’s first direct military response to Israel’s Operation Rising Lion.

In an official briefing, an Israeli Army spokesperson said the country’s air defense systems have been fully activated in anticipation of the incoming aerial threats.
“More than 100 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were launched from Iran in the past few hours,” the spokesperson announced. “We are closely tracking their flight paths and coordinating with regional and international allies.”
The large-scale drone attack follows a series of Israeli airstrikes on Iranian targets, including the Natanz nuclear enrichment facility and several military command centers in Tehran. Those strikes reportedly killed high-ranking officials of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and nuclear scientists.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had earlier vowed “severe punishment,” while Iranian military officials warned of imminent retaliation.
