Former 1st Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mrs. Funke Adekoya, SAN, has been appointed into the Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre For Settlement Of Investment Disputes, Washington DC, USA (ICSID).
A letter signed by the Centre’s Secretary-General, Meg Kinnear, Designation to the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators said ‘I am pleased to inform you that pursuant to Article 13(2) of the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States, the President of the World Bank Group, Dr. Jim Yong Kim, in his capacity as ex-officio Chairman of the Administrative Council of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), has designated you to serve on the Panel of Arbitrators maintained by the Centre.
The designation is for a period of six years extending through September 16, 2023. ‘To complete the requirements set forth in Regulation 21 (3) of the ICSID Administrative and Financial Regulations, we would appreciate receiving your confirmation that you accept this designation.’
Adekoya, SAN is one of Nigeria’s outstanding female Legal Practitioners and Arbitrators, a member of the Body of Benchers and she represents Nigeria on many international arbitration bodies.
