Among these prospective Inductees are Judges of the Ogun State Judiciary, members of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Lagos Chapter, Clergymen, Senior Executives and Professionals in the Nigerian public and private sectors, undergraduate students of the University of Lagos and Redeemer’s University, amongst others. This special Induction Ceremony will also feature an ADR Seminar with the theme ‘’BUILDING BRIDGES ACROSS SOCIO-CULTURAL DIVIDES: THE ROLE OF MEDIATORS’’. As an Institute, we believe in times like this when diverse ethnic, religious and socio-cultural groups clash, Mediation may serve as a necessary tool to prevent conflict; and in cases where these skirmishes have escalated to full-blown conflicts, Mediators may step in and facilitate the amicable settlement of these conflicts. One of the highlights of this event is the exposition of the theme and Key Note speech by Hon. Justice Atinuke Oluyemi, the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Judge, High Court of Lagos, Igbosere. Hon. Justice Oluyemi has been a member of the Institute since 2009 and has contributed greatly to the growth and development of Mediation practice in Nigeria. The Institute hopes that this seminar will inspire more people to become actively engaged in Mediation efforts and understand the invaluable importance of using mediation as a tool to build bridges, settle disputes and resolve conflicts. The venue for the Special Induction Ceremony and ADR Seminar is the Centre for Management and Development (CMD), Shangisha off Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (Old toll gate) Lagos State. You are warmly invited to this event.]]>
