The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) has announced the September edition of its Mediator’s Connect Webinar Series, featuring a thought-provoking session on the theme “Does Culture Influence Mediation?”

The webinar, scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM (WAT) via Zoom, will be facilitated by Dr. Chukwuemeka B. Eze, FICMC, 1st Deputy President of ICMC.

According to the organisers, culture plays a pivotal role in shaping perspectives, values, and communication styles, making it an essential factor in conflict resolution. The session will examine how cultural dynamics affect mediation practices and provide practical insights for navigating cross-cultural disputes to achieve lasting outcomes.

The webinar is open to mediators, ADR practitioners, community leaders, peacebuilders, and legal professionals, with participants eligible to earn 2 CPD units.

Interested participants can register through the official link: bit.ly/icmcsep. A confirmation email containing access details will be sent upon registration.

The Registrar of ICMC, Babatunde Oyefeso, FICMC, described the session as a must-attend event for professionals seeking to leverage culture as a bridge, rather than a barrier, in mediation processes.
