Sandra Onyenucheya, the former wife of veteran Nigerian television broadcaster Frank Edoho, has broken her silence following news that their marriage has ended, levelling a series of explosive allegations against the former host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, accusing him of infidelity, emotional and physical abuse, financial irresponsibility, and pressuring her to terminate her second pregnancy.

The allegations, shared through a series of strongly worded posts on her Instagram Stories, paint a starkly different picture from the measured tone adopted by Edoho when he publicly disclosed their separation, and have sent shockwaves through Nigerian social media.

Sandra alleged that Frank Edoho cheated on her while she was pregnant with their first child, carrying on an affair with an actress that lasted for years.

“Until you decided that while I am pregnant with our first child, you would rather have a prolonged affair that lasted years with an actress. Where do I even begin? The nights crying on the floor begging that you see me, with you walking out and not returning for days!” she wrote.

She said she had chosen to speak out because remaining silent risked allowing a false narrative to take hold. “Choosing to remain silent may give mixed signals to the narrative that a sadist and narcissist peddles, making everyone believe he is a victim,” Sandra stated.

She described herself as having been wholly committed to the marriage, stating: “Choosing to marry a man, raising our beautiful kids, single-handedly building and growing a successful design business and giving myself wholly, undiluted and faithful through and through!”

In what may be the most disturbing of her allegations, Sandra accused Edoho of pressuring her to terminate her second pregnancy because he was involved in multiple relationships and was not ready to be a father again.

“Or the days you tormented me to abort our 2nd child because you were in numerous relationships and not ready to be a father?!” she wrote.

Sandra alleged that she endured sustained emotional, psychological, mental, and physical abuse throughout the marriage, but remained committed and faithful, shielding Edoho from public scrutiny.

“Throughout the emotional, physiological, mental and physical torture and abuse, I stayed committed, faithful, shielding you, carrying like egg. But you are a shell. Washed up and dried out. You live for validation of the internet. So enjoy your 10 seconds of pity party,” she stated.

Sandra went further to describe Frank Edoho as “a dead beat” and made sweeping allegations about the financial dynamics of their marriage, claiming she single-handedly funded his lifestyle, paid all household bills, and even took care of financial obligations relating to his children from a previous marriage.

“A dead beat! That is exactly what you are. I single-handedly sponsored your lavish lifestyle. I single-handedly paid all your bills, the trips, business class tickets, 5-star hotels, luxury trips, all the home bills including that of the other children from your previously failed marriage,” Sandra wrote.

She disclosed that she took Edoho’s mother abroad to the United States, where the older woman lived in Sandra’s parents’ home for years. “I took your mom abroad to the United States, and she lived in my parent’s home for years! I tried to cover you,” she added.

Sandra accused Edoho of abusing the financial access he had to her funds, alleging that he squandered her money on women, hotels, and entertainment.

“Have you ever paid school fees? Have you ever? All you did was abuse the financial access you had to my funds. Squandering my money on prostitutes and loose women. So many numerous transactions in Lekki hotels, Airbnb, lounges and bars,” she stated.

She further alleged that Edoho sold her property without her permission for a fraction of its value and squandered the proceeds within a single week on different women.

“Sold my property without my permission for chicken change and still squandered the earnings from it within one week! On different girls. Documented evidence dey! Chai!” Sandra wrote, suggesting she possesses documentary proof of her claims.

Sandra’s allegations came shortly after Frank Edoho, who became a household name in Nigeria as the long-time host of the popular television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, publicly disclosed that he and Sandra had been privately separated for nearly two years and were in the process of divorcing.

In his statement, Edoho struck a composed and measured tone, acknowledging the public interest in the matter while indicating that he had already moved past the emotional phase of the separation.

“Over the past few days, I’ve received an outpouring of kind messages, prayers, concern, and goodwill regarding my separation and ongoing divorce proceedings,” he wrote. “While I understand that the public is only just becoming aware of this chapter, I have lived through it privately for quite some time now (almost two years) and have since made peace with it emotionally.”

He added that he was focused, at peace, and grateful for the support he had received from well-wishers.

As of the time of this report, Frank Edoho has not publicly responded to Sandra Onyenucheya’s specific allegations of infidelity, abuse, financial exploitation, and pressure to terminate a pregnancy. It remains to be seen whether the broadcaster will issue a detailed rebuttal or maintain the restrained approach he adopted in his initial public statement.

The couple’s separation adds to the growing list of high-profile Nigerian celebrity marriages that have ended publicly in recent years, often accompanied by competing narratives from both parties played out on social media platforms.
