Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk has expressed regret over controversial social media posts made during a fiery clash with U.S. President Donald Trump last week.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk posted Wednesday on X.

The fallout ended a once-close alliance that had positioned Musk at the helm of the Trump-backed Department of Government Efficiency, sending ripples through markets concerned about the future of Tesla and SpaceX.

The row erupted over Musk’s vocal opposition to Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.” Musk also appeared to delete a post accusing Trump of ties to Jeffrey Epstein—an allegation the White House denied.

The social media slugfest, waged across X and Trump’s Truth Social, escalated with Trump hinting at terminating federal contracts linked to Musk’s ventures.

Trump recently declared the relationship “over.”
