Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, visited the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters in Abuja on Friday to provide clarification regarding financial expenditures during her tenure.

The visit comes a day after EFCC investigators grilled and detained the former minister over allegations of a N138 million fraud.

In a series of posts on her official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Kennedy-Ohanenye detailed her visit, stating that she arrived at the EFCC headquarters at 2:15 pm and departed at 6:50 pm. During her time there, she provided “comprehensive clarifications” about her actions while serving as minister.

The former minister commended the EFCC for their professionalism and hospitality during the visit. She expressed appreciation for the opportunity to address the matters that have recently been circulating in the media and assured the anti-graft agency of her full cooperation for any further inquiries related to the case.

Kennedy-Ohanenye emphasized her prudent management of public funds during her tenure, noting that her team executed their duties diligently and utilized available resources effectively.

She revealed that she even supplemented government resources with personal funds to support initiatives under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, demonstrating her dedication to the success of the agenda for Nigerian women and children.
