United States federal agents have arrested podcaster Azariah Southworth over alleged threats to kill President Donald Trump and the purported cyberstalking of a lawyer formerly associated with the president.

Southworth, 40, was arrested by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation at his residence in the Westlake neighbourhood of Los Angeles, California.
He reportedly surrendered without incident after agents surrounded the property and directed him to come outside.
According to court documents, Southworth allegedly published several threatening statements about Trump on social media between January and May 2026.
In a video allegedly posted on April 7, Southworth reportedly stated: “I have been publicly advocating for the execution of Donald Trump,” before allegedly urging that the president be killed.
Prosecutors also alleged that Southworth wrote in a private message in January that if he had an opportunity to kill Trump, he would not waste it.
Another social media post reportedly featured a manipulated image showing Southworth standing behind Trump in the Oval Office and holding a knife close to the president’s head.
Southworth later described his statements about killing Trump as “just rhetoric.” Federal prosecutors, however, alleged that he made the statements deliberately and intended them to be understood as serious threats.
He is also accused of cyberstalking a former lawyer associated with Trump by publishing the lawyer’s residential address and the telephone numbers of some of his relatives online.
Investigators further alleged that Southworth contacted members of the lawyer’s family and made at least 13 interstate telephone calls containing abusive statements.
He is facing federal charges relating to threats against the President of the United States, cyberstalking and interstate telephone harassment.
If convicted on all counts, Southworth could face a combined maximum sentence of 12 years in federal prison.
The allegations against him have not been proven, and he is presumed innocent unless and until convicted by a court.
