*Warns Nigerians of Slippery Political Promises as Election Approaches

Popular Benin based Human Right Activist and Social Crusader, Afolayan Timi has reacted to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s declaration of intention to succeed his principal, Muhammadu Buhari next year describing his declaration speech as misleading.

Earlier today Vice President Yemi Osibanjo in a widely publicised broadcast declared his intention to run for the country’s number one seat in the next general election finally ending months of speculation about his desire to run for the office.

The declaration has however elicited diverse reactions from a cross-section of political analysts and pundits.

In the course of his declaration, the Vice President promised that if given the opportunity to serve as President, he will provide an excellent environment for businesses to fly, enhance Nigeria’s social investment Programme to a full scale social welfare scheme.

However, reacting to the declaration, Afolayan warned Nigerians about what he termed the “slippery promises of Osinbajo”. According to him, Osinbajo’s seven-year scorecard as Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria sums up as incompetent.

He also derided the VP, for attempting to absolve himself of what he deemed “the failure of the Buhari led administration to fulfill its campaign promises”.

He posted on his Facebook handle-

“Listening to Professor Yemi Osinbajo one is left with the feeling that he was not a part of this Buhari government.”

He was in charge of tradermoni…How about the Economic council he chaired?” He asked.

“Professor Yemi Osinbajo the head of Buhari improvident Economic Team, will certainly take us to next level of hell.
Nigerians beware”

He also questioned the genuineness of the VP’s promise to provide jobs for Nigeria’s teeming masses after failing to do so in the past seven years as Head of the National Economic Council.

“Osinbajo said he is running to “provide jobs for millions”. The fellow has been in charge of Nigeria’s economy for the last 7 years, according to Buhari himself. Yet, Nigerians have lost millions of jobs created by other administrations. His job record is abysmal!”
