The first event, a Valedictory Court Session, will take place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at the Court of Appeal in Asaba, Delta State. The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Asaba Branch, has called on all members to attend in full regulation dress and robes to pay tribute to Justice Mbaba’s decades of service.
In a notice to colleagues, the NBA Chairman of the Asaba Branch stated: “My Lord, Hon. Justice Ita Mbaba, invites the entire membership of the branch to honor his remarkable journey on the bench. This valedictory session is a testament to his unwavering dedication to justice and the rule of law.”
Thanksgiving and Book Presentation
A second event, a Thanksgiving Service and Book Presentation, will follow on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Qua Iboe Church in Uyo Township, Akwa Ibom State. The gathering will blend spiritual gratitude with intellectual celebration, as Justice Mbaba presents publications reflecting his legal expertise and experiences.

Appointed to the bench 25 years ago, Justice Mbaba rose to become a revered figure in Nigeria’s appellate courts. His tenure was marked by landmark judgments and a commitment to judicial integrity, earning him national recognition, including the prestigious Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).
