*Draws A Comparison Between the Gov.& Other First Term Govs.
*Urges the Gov To Promptly Constitute His Cabinet

Foremost Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa has called out the Governor of Lagos, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, noting that “he seems to be running a one man show” as he was yet to constitute a cabinet despite being in sworn in May 29, 2023 and 2nd term governor.

According to the learned silk, presently, Lagos State is operating without an Executive Council in place notwithstanding the fact that the House of Assembly of the State has since been inaugurated and its officers duly elected.

He noted further that money is being spent daily without Commissioners and without an Executive Council duly constituted.

Also, to drive home his point, the learned silk drew a comparison between the Governor and other Governors, particularly first term Governor. “His Excellency, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu is on the saddle for his second term in office, so he is not new. Dr. Alex Otti, who is a first term governor, has since constituted his cabinet, so too Mr. Ademola Adeleke of Osun State. Governor Sanwo-Olu was sworn in for a second term in office on May 29, 2023.”, Aderogbuwa SAN said.

He established that the Governor of Lagos has been in office for well over one month and he seems to be running a one man show. According to the learned silk, this was not limited to Governor of Lagos. He pointed out the governors of Oyo and Ogun States also have failed to constitute a cabinet, who are also on their second terms in office

Aderogbuwa SAN noted that this should not be the case. His words read thus: “A State as cosmopolitan and complex as Lagos deserves a functional cabinet, for certainty of administration and predictability of policies.”

In finality, the learned silk urged the governor to promptly constitute his cabinet without further delay so Lagos will not in his words “be on auto pilot.”
