The Senator representing Bauchi North Senatorial District on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa, has said that the Labour Party (LP) is making noise over the outcome of the 2023 presidential election because of the overconfidence of the party.

Speaking on an Arise TV interview, Bulkachuwa said that the Labour Party felt so elated and so popular and therefore, thought the presidential seat would be easily handed over to them.

He noted that the PDP was not making noise over the outcome of the elections because they (PDP members) believed that they performed creditably well in the elections and that wherever the party had doubts, they would approach the court believing that the court would look at their evidences.

Bulkachuwa said that the PDP, having ruled Nigeria for 16 years, should not be compared with the Labour Party or other “smaller” political parties in the country.

He said, “What you consider as PDP being missing in action is not correct. It is rather PDP demonstrating maturity, and we are not a party of newcomers or a party for novices or a party that wants to be known.

“After all, you have noticed the scribbles and the noise between the APC and the Labour Party.

“The Labour Party are too much of themselves. They feel so elated, or popular at first and they considered their method, their way of thinking and their approach to politics as something that is new in Nigeria and they thought we will hand over the presidency of this country to them.

“But we know, having ruled this country continuously for 16 years, we can’t behave like children. We are reorganising ourselves, and believing that we have performed creditably well in the 2023 presidential and governorship elections.

“We know that where we have doubts, we will head to court and I’m sure the court will look at our reasoning and there is no need to be making so much noise to say that the country or heavens will fall.

“Certainly, you don’t compare us with the Labour Party or other smaller parties.”
