The Lagos State Judiciary has released the new posting of Magistrates for the year 2024.

According to a directive issued by the Deputy Chief Registrar (Administration), Rasaq O. Davies, on behalf of the Honorable Chief Judge, the new posting will take effect from Monday, December 16, 2024.
The posting instruction, contained in an attached schedule, is to be strictly complied with by all Magistrates. The directive also includes specific instructions regarding the transfer process:
1. No Magistrate is permitted to remove any official items such as refrigerators, air conditioners, chairs, or tables from their previous posting to their new court.
2. Magistrates are required to take only their personal effects to their new courts.
3. All part-heard matters, including part-heard trials and judgments yet to be delivered, should be taken along by the Magistrates to their new courts.
4. Fresh files and pending bail applications are to remain at the court where they commenced.
5. Members of staff, including Registrars, Clerks, and Office Attendants, attached to each court shall not accompany their Magistrates to their new courts.
Furthermore, the directive emphasizes that despite the sharing of sitting days, bail applications and other urgent matters should be attended to promptly by the Magistrates.
