The Rivers State House of Assembly has issued a formal invitation to nine nominees for appointment as commissioners and members of the Rivers State Executive Council, requiring them to submit extensive documentation ahead of the screening and confirmation process.

In a government special announcement signed by the Clerk of the House, Emeka Amadi, PhD, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the Assembly directed the nominees to provide forty (40) sets of their Curriculum Vitae (CV), photocopies of credentials, and evidence of compliance with tax obligations.
The nominees listed are:

- Professor Temple Nwofor
- Dr. Peters Nwagor
- Mrs. Charity Deemua
- Tamuno Williams, Esq.
- Mr. Lekue Kenneth

All required documents must be forwarded to the Office of the Clerk at the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex, P.M.B. 6166, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.
This development follows earlier reports of Governor Siminalayi Fubara submitting lists of commissioner-nominees to the Assembly in recent weeks as part of efforts to reconstitute and expand the state cabinet amid ongoing political reconciliation efforts in the state. Previous submissions in February 2026 involved larger slates, including around 20 names in some reports, balancing interests from various camps, but this announcement focuses on these nine specific individuals for the current phase.
Professor Datonye Alasia is a notable figure in the medical field, having previously served as Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Rivers State chapter, and as a consultant respiratory physician. Other nominees bring diverse professional backgrounds in academia, law, and public service.
