Arsenal have completed the signing of England international Eberechi Eze on a long-term contract, marking a return to North London for the 27-year-old midfielder whose football journey began at the club’s academy.

Eze, who rose to prominence with Queens Park Rangers during the 2019/20 season where he was named Player of the Year, joins the Gunners after five successful years at Crystal Palace. He made over 150 appearances for the Eagles and played a decisive role in their historic FA Cup triumph in May, scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Manchester City.

On the international stage, Eze debuted for England in 2023 after representing the country at youth levels. He has since won 11 caps, scored his first senior international goal in a 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Latvia in March, and was part of the Euro 2024 squad.

Arsenal Sporting Director Andrea Berta hailed the capture, describing Eze as a “creative and explosive talent with huge technical quality.” He added:

“Eberechi is a big-game player, and his experience at international level with England underlines his quality and character. There has been excellent teamwork across the club to make this transfer happen, and we are very confident he will be an important addition as we continue to build for success.”

Manager Mikel Arteta also expressed delight at the new signing, praising Eze’s mentality and ambition:

“He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in attack. What stands out just as much as his talent is how hard he has worked throughout his career to get here. His journey, his mentality, and what this move means to him and his family are exactly what we want in our team. We look forward to working with him.”

Eze’s move represents both a homecoming and a major boost to Arsenal’s attacking options as they prepare for the 2025/26 season.
