Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and Labour Party candidate for the Edo 2024 governorship election, has lost his father, Dr. Henry Omorogieva Akpata.

Dr. Akpata, who celebrated his 84th birthday on May 29, 2024, passed away on Friday. The elder Akpata was described by his son as “loving, caring, doting, and dedicated.”
A source told The Nigeria Lawyer that the family is yet to officially announce the loss.
Dr. Henry Omorogieva Akpata was widely admired for his dedication to family and community. Further details about the funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
