The Lagos State Judiciary has announced the passing of one of its eminent judges and former Chief Registrar, Hon. Justice Ganiyu Safari.

According to a statement issued on April 13, 2025, by Ayida M.O, Public Relations Officer of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Lagos Chapter, Justice Safari died in the early hours of today.

“With utmost submission to the unquestionable will of Almighty God, the Lagos State Judiciary announces the death of one of our choicest Judges and former Chief Registrar, Hon. Justice Ganiyu Safari, who departed in the early hours of today,” the statement read.

The Judiciary expressed deep sorrow over the loss and prayed for the repose of his soul, asking God to grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Burial arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
