FOREIGNERS CANNOT BE DIRECTORS IN SECURITY COMPANIES IN NIGERIA
Generally, foreigners can become directors in Nigerian companies. However, the directors of private security companies must be wholly Nigerians.
Whilst the Corporate Affairs Commission may allow registration of a proposed security company with foreign directors, bottlenecks will be experienced at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, which is the body, empowered to licence Security Companies in Nigeria.
See Section 13(1)(e) of the Private Guards Company Act.
