The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that its C-130 aircraft (NAF 913) has arrived safely at a maintenance facility OGMA in Lisbon, Portugal, on Friday, December 26, 2025.

A statement by the NAF Spokesman, Air Cdre Ehimen Ejodame, said the ferry flight was successfully completed, transiting Banjul and Casablanca in line with an updated flight plan and established aviation safety procedures.

According to him, the aircraft and crew arrived without incident, marking the final phase of the movement for the scheduled depot maintenance.

“All personnel are safe, and remain in high spirit,” he stated.

The Service appreciated the cooperation and support of host authorities throughout the transit.

Ejodame further reaffirmed NAF unwavering commitment to the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and operational accountability.

The Director, Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed that the aircraft, which made planned stops in Banjul, the Gambia, and Casablanca, Morocco, arrived safely at the OGMA maintenance facility on Thursday, with both the crew and aircraft reported in good condition.

He said the ferry flight was executed in strict compliance with aviation safety procedures, and all personnel remain safe and in high spirits.

According to him, the maintenance move forms part of the Air Force’s ongoing efforts to sustain operational readiness and ensure its fleet remains mission-capable.

Recall that the aircraft a few weeks ago made an emergency landing in Burkina Faso over technical fault, a development the Burkinabe authorities said was without prior authorisation, thereby detaining the aircraft and its 11 occupants.

The development led to diplomatic tension between Nigeria and Burkina Faso before the impasse was eventually resolved diplomatically after about 10 days.
