The Federal Government has declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, a public holiday to celebrate Workers’ Day.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the announcement, Tuesday in Abuja, emphasized the importance of peace for driving industrialization and economic growth in Nigeria.
The minister, in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Magdalene Ajani, praised the dedication and sacrifices of workers, acknowledging their role in the nation’s progress and the respect Nigeria enjoys internationally.
He highlighted the dignity of labor, urging workers to embrace innovation and productivity in their respective fields.
The Minister encouraged workers to elevate their standards to improve governance and ensure equitable distribution of the nation’s resources.
He reassured Nigerians of the administration’s commitment to their safety and the security of all individuals in the country.
Wishing all workers a joyful celebration, the minister urged the public to remain hopeful, saying that President Bola Tinubu’s administration works towards fulfilling its Renewed Hope Agenda.
