All roads lead to Akure this Saturday, August 16, 2025, as the city gears up for the public presentation of The History of Student Unionism: Documenting Union Dynamics in Nigerian Universities by Tunde Akingbondere.
The book explores the critical role of student unionism in shaping Nigeria’s socio-political landscape and grooming future leaders.
The launch is scheduled for 10 a.m. at the prestigious Royal Birds Hotels and Towers, Alagbaka, Akure, and promises a day of insightful discussions, book readings, signings, and networking. Refreshments will be served.
The event will be chaired by celebrated human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana SAN, while the royal grandeur will be provided by His Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Deji of Akure, who will serve as the Royal Father of the Day.
A host of distinguished personalities will also grace the occasion, including Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Prophet (Dr.) Ebenezer Akinsunlola, Hon. Festus Akingbaso, Mr. Rotimi Jones (FCA), Hon.
