A female accountant with the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, identified as Kasham Thomas, was on Monday found dead inside her car in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja.

This comes shortly after the body of a suspected labourer was discovered inside a car at the National Assembly complex, though the identity of that victim remains unknown.

The accountant’s body, which bore two stab wounds to the chest and stomach, was discovered along 35 Road.

A witness said police from the Gwarimpa division were alerted to the incident and, after notifying her family, took her body to Kubwa General Hospital.

A relative of the deceased said Ms. Thomas had earlier been in the Karshi community to pick up her two children ahead of their school’s resumption.

“She left Karshi around 7 pm and went to her home in Lugbe to drop off the children,” the relative said. “She left the house after that, with a promise to come back soon.”

A knife, believed to be the murder weapon, and an Apple Watch were found inside the car with her body.

This incident comes just a week after a Bolt driver was found dead on the Gwarimpa-Kubwa expressway with a stab wound to his neck, and his car reportedly stolen.

A police source at the Gwarimpa division confirmed the incident.
