The Federal High Court of Nigeria has announced its Annual Vacation for the year 2024, which will commence from Tuesday, July 23, 2024, to Friday, September 13, 2024.

The announcement was made through a circular issued by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Hon. Justice John T. Tsoho, OFR, KSS, FCIArb (UK), on May 24, 2024.
In accordance with the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019, the court will resume sitting on Monday, September 16, 2024. However, the court will not be completely shut down during the vacation period, as three premier divisions of the court will remain open to attend to matters of extreme urgency.
The litigating public will be at liberty to approach only the following functional courts located nearest to them:
1. Abuja
2. Lagos
3. Port-Harcourt
The Vacation Judges for each division are as follows:
Abuja:
1. Hon. Justice Emeka Nwite
2. Hon. Justice Peter O. Lifu
Lagos:
1. Hon. Justice Akintayo Aluko
2. Hon. Justice Isaac D. Dipeolu
Port-Harcourt:
1. Hon. Justice A. T. Mohammed
2. Hon. Justice P. M. Ayua
The Chief Judge wished all the Judges a pleasant vacation in advance.
This annual vacation is a routine practice in the Nigerian judiciary, allowing judges to take a break from their regular duties and attend to personal matters. However, the court recognizes the need to continue addressing urgent cases during this period, which is why the three premier divisions will remain operational.
