The Federal Government has renewed its partnership commitment with the Hague Institute for Innovative Law (HiiL) to ensure unhindered access to justice by all Nigerians.

This commitment was made during the presentation of HiiL’s 2023 report “Justice Needs and Satisfaction (JNS) in Nigeria” in Abuja. The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), represented by Mr. Felix Okojie, commended HiiL’s efforts in achieving its objectives and expressed satisfaction with the research results from three Nigerian states.
HiiL disclosed that globally, one-third of the population lacks access to justice, with rule of law declining in countries housing six billion people. HiiL CEO Sam Muller noted that this situation impacts six out of eight billion people worldwide, hindering peace and justice.
Domestic violence was identified as one of Nigeria’s most serious legal problems. The report aligns with the World Justice Project’s 2023 findings on the global decline of rule of law.
The Federal Government’s renewed partnership with HiiL aims to promote people-centered justice services and work towards accessible justice for all Nigerians. HiiL is an international organization known for developing user-friendly justice systems.
