Ewenode O. William, Felicitates With FIDA Oyo Chapter On Her Law Week.

Immediate Past Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association Ewenode O. William, Esq., says it is an honour for him to send goodwill message to the Chairperson and Members of the International Federation of Women Lawyers aka (FIDA), Oyo State Branch on the occasion of their FIDA Law Week.

Oyo FIDA Chapter, on the 8th, commenced its Week with the theme- “Collaborative Synergy Amongst Stakeholders For the Enforcement and Implementation of Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law (VAPP), 2021: Removing the Clogs”. The event is marked to come to an end on the 15th of October.

Ewenode in his goodwill said this year’s theme is very important and peculiar.

“There is truly the urgent need for a collaborative synergy amongst the various Stakeholders responsible for the Implementation of VAPP, the absence of which has often led to the discharge of some suspects.

“It is often observed by Practitioners that the lack of Collaborative synergy amongst the various stakeholders in the implementation of VAPP has also brought about the unpleasant consequences of discharge of suspects.

“Therefore the need for this interrogation of the various Stakeholders responsible for the implementation of VAPP cannot be overemphasized.

“I therefore wholly adopt the theme of this Law Week as apt and urge that FIDANS Oyo State must close rank and ensure that this conversation is fruitful and all necessary lessons are learnt by all the Stakeholders.

“It is also expected from the line up of events which included the Sensitization of Students on VAPP, Market Sensitization Outreach, In-House Counselling and the Break out Sessions that Members will be immensely enriched in such a way that will bring about serious attitudinal changes.
