The Partners of Obra Legal, welcomed its nine (9) new interns who are supposed to be in the firm for two months (July-September) commencing from 21st of July, 2021
The internship provides ample opportunities for work, practical skill acquisition, ethical formation, proper professional and social networking.
The Welcome Session for the new interns was powered by Obra Foundation and moderated by Judith Ezeonu an Associate in Obra Legal and the Team lead, Obra Interns/Externs.
The interns were addressed by professors from Nigeria universities. Among them are Prof. Michael Iloeje (First Professor Emeritus of Genetics from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri) and Prof. Gozie S. Ogbodo (Professor of International Law and Dean, Faculty of Law Godfrey Okoye University), who enlightened the Interns on “Discipline, the Key to Success”.
Prof. Iloeje presented the Interns with quite a robust experience and counsel, throughout, while maintaining impeccable humility and a great sense of humour as the students were able to relate to stories and experiences he shared.
On his part, Prof. Ogbodo’s address was vivacious and clear as he captured the theme’s significant points and as he expanded on Discipline in the Law profession.
The concerns and questions raised by the Interns were given excellent answers and suggestions by both Prof. Iloeje and Prof. Ogbodo.
At the summit of the session were brief speeches and encouraging words from the Managing Partner Obra Legal, Ikechukwu Onuoma Esq and the Principal Partner, Chief (Mrs) A. J. Offiah, SAN, FCArb. It was indeed an educational, interactive and above all fun-filled experience.
