The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, on Wednesday inaugurated the Ilawe Ekiti division of the Ekiti State High Court.
Justice Daramola advised the people of Ilawe Ekiti, Ekiti South West council, to protect the court from vandals and other criminal-minded people.
The CJ said the idea behind the project was to bring justice nearer to the people.
He said, “Ilawe Ekiti division will service not only Ilawe community, but all other communities in Ekiti South-West Local Government Area.”
Justice Daramola lauded Governor Kayode Fayemi for the project, describing him as “a firm believer in the rule of law and making the justice sector function effectively”.
He added, “This is yet another fulfilment of the policy of the present administration in bringing justice nearer to the people of Ekiti State.”
The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Ajibade Alabi, said only a fearless judiciary could save, restore and foster peace, good government and public order in society.
