Struggling English Championship side Blackburn Rovers will appeal against the decision of the England FA to refuse Nigeria defender Efe Ambrose a work permit.

According to a report in The Sun, the Nigerian defender has had his application for a work permit rejected because he hasn’t played in sufficient number of international matches for Nigeria as the rule stipulate.

The 28-year-old defender’s contract with the Scottish Giants Celtic will finish this summer. Now the English Championship side will make an appeal against the decision to the FA. If the appeal is unsuccessful, Ambrose will see out the remainder of his contract at Celtic.
