President Buhari had ordered for probe of the affected individuals following the recommendation of the committee he set up to audit the procurement of arms and equipment in the armed forces and defence sector between 2007 and 2015. Also slated to be investigated by the anti-graft agency were 21 companies and their directors for their roles in the fundamental breaches associated with the procurements by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). There were speculations that the affected officers and directors of the companies would start appearing at the commission on Monday but up till close of work on Monday, none of them showed up at the commission’s office in Abuja.
