The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a legal practitioner, Bar. Bardi Robert, for allegedly receiving N15,712, 187.38 judgment debt fund from a Rivers State High Court, on behalf of his client, Igwe Ugochukwu and converted same to his personal use.

The EFCC’s Head of Media & Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement on Thursday, said the suspect was arrested on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to the statement, the suspect allegedly received the judgment fund in three tranches of N10,000,000, N737,187.28 and N4,975,000.00.

Mr Uwujaren added that the suspect’s alleged accomplice, one Obinna Friday Egwom, is still at large.

“The suspect would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded,” he added.
