The Edo State House of Assembly has summoned Hon. Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, the member representing Egor Constituency, to appear before its Ethics and Privileges Committee within one week. The summons follows allegations of misconduct highlighted in a viral video showing a heated altercation between the lawmaker and her husband, renowned musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, during a trip to the United Kingdom.

Speaker of the House, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, announced the summons during Tuesday’s plenary session, emphasizing that Irobosa’s actions have tarnished the assembly’s reputation. “Hon. Natasha Irobosa has been summoned to appear before the Ethics and Privileges Committee of the Assembly due to her recent conduct, which has been trending online,” Agbebaku stated. “This conduct drags the name of the House into disrepute, and it is the responsibility of members to conduct themselves appropriately.”

Agbebaku described the assembly as comprising “cerebral minds and educated people” who have been unfairly implicated by the controversy. He added, “The House has members who know what they are doing, and the attitude of our member has brought this House into disrepute. We will not tolerate it.” The committee is expected to submit its findings to the full house within two weeks.

The summons follows the circulation of videos on social media showing an intense public dispute between Irobosa and 2Baba in London. In one clip, Irobosa is heard yelling at the singer, saying, “Don’t do that! Don’t do it! Na every day you go dey shout for me?” Additional footage suggests the argument drew the attention of UK police, leading to 2Baba being briefly handcuffed and detained, though details on any formal charges remain unconfirmed.

The videos, which surfaced around November 30, 2025, have attracted widespread attention, amassing thousands of views and sparking debates on celebrity privacy, domestic disputes, and the conduct of public officials. Irobosa, who introduced herself on the assembly floor as “Hon. Natasha Irobosa Osawaru Nee Idibia,” has not publicly commented on the incident as of press time.

The story has dominated online discourse, with X (formerly Twitter) users sharing the videos and weighing in on the implications for Irobosa’s role as a lawmaker. Reactions range from calls for accountability “This House has been dragged into disrepute for too long by our colleague” to humorous memes blending politics and entertainment. One viral thread highlighted the irony of a former minority leader, a position Irobosa recently held before her removal, facing scrutiny over personal drama.
