The position of 3rd Vice President is zoned to the East by virtue of the provisions of Section 2.2 (b) as contained in the 2nd Schedule of the Constitution of the Nigerian Bar Association, 2015 as amended.
The position had remained vacant for the past eight months following the disqualification of the aspirants who picked nomination forms for the said position during the 2020 NBA elections and the legal tussle that ensured thereafter.
Following the successful determination of the suit in favour of the NBA, the National Executive Committee of the NBA at its meeting in Uyo Akwa Ibom State invoked the provisions Section 2.3 (j) as contained in the 2nd Schedule of the Constitution of the Nigerian Bar Association, 2015 as amended and appointed Ombo Victor Frank-briggs as the 3rd Vice President of the NBA.
“This appointment i must declare is apt and it is putting square pegs in square holes as Ombo Victor Frank-briggs is competent and has the capacity to function and discharge the duties of the office of 3rd Vice President.
“Thank you to NEC for this wise choice and congratulations to Ombo Victor Frank-briggs,” he stated
