*Successfully Screened Aspirants of EBF Extraction to Enjoy Forum’s Endorsement

The Eastern Bar Forum has adopted and released guidelines for the screening of aspirants of the Forum’s extraction for the forthcoming NBA 2022 General Elections.

In a press release made available to TheNigeriaLawyer and signed by the Chairman of the Screening Committee, Okey Leo Ohagba Esq. and its Secretary, Amaka Ezeno Esq, the screening exercise is pursuant to Article 11 of the EBF Constitution 2015, as amended 2020.

According to the released guidelines, every Aspirant shall submit an Expression of interest letter, a Letter of Allegiance to be bound by EBF decision (duly sworn before a Notary Public or Commissioner for Oaths), and a Letter of Good Standing from the aspirants’ local NBA Branch, duly signed by the Chairman and secretary of the branch, all of which shall be deemed as a notice of aspiration for the purpose of the screening.

The guidelines also provide that;

Every aspirant shall submit to the screening committee, copies of all documents qualifying the aspirant for the office being vied for in accordance with the NBA constitution.

It further provides that for any aspirant to qualify for EBF adoption, such aspirant must have been duly qualified pursuant to Article 11(2) & (3) of the EBF Constitution and shall submit to the screening committee, copies of the EBF receipt for the preceding two years dues, and every Notice of Aspiration with all accompanying qualifying documents shall reach the screening committee on or before 6pm of 31st March 2022.

Pursuant to the released guidelines, Notice of Aspiration and accompanying documents shall be properly sealed in an envelope and addressed to the screening committee through The Secretary Eastern Bar Forum, Mr. Chris Yakemewerigha and send to the address: R. TheNigeriaLawyer recalls that at the last quarterly meeting of the Eastern Bar Forum held at Chief Obegolu Bar Center Anaocha on the 12th of February, 2022, the EBF, in line with her constitutional dictates, constituted a screening Committee for aspirants of EBF extraction in the forthcoming NBA General Elections 2022. The Committee is headed by Okey Ohagba, Esq, a past National Officer of NBA and Mrs. Amaka Ezeno, a former Chairman of NBA Awka branch as Secretary amongst others.
