Eastern Bar Forum Names 17-Member Team To Organise March Quarterly Meeting

The Eastern Bar Forum (EBF) of the Nigerian Bar Association has named a 17-member Local Organising Committee (LOC) to coordinate its next quarterly meeting scheduled for March 2024 in Enugu.

The EBF Governing Council Secretary, Mr. Ki Onwusi conveyed the appointment in a letter to the LOC’s First Alternate Chairman, Ikechukwu Onuoma SAN. Other officers include Chairman Mr. Tochukwu Maduka SAN and Second Alternate Chairman, Chief Kingsley Olemeforo.

The LOC also consists of four statutory EBF officials alongside the chairmen of Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi and Abia branches which make up the zone. Additionally, fifteen other senior lawyers have been nominated into the planning team as co-opted members.

According to the terms of reference, the committee is tasked with efficiently organising the quarterly conference. Key deliverables include fundraising, event publicity across various media, and making accommodation arrangements for VIP attendees.

The LOC has also been directed to secure the participation of top government dignitaries especially from the executive, legislature and judiciary at the opening of the regional law conference.

The appointment comes as the Eastern Bar Forum, a respected body within the umbrella NBA, prepares to host members to thoughtful discourse and network opportunities at its forthcoming quarterly gathering.
