The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has formally issued notice of proposed amendments to its Constitution, with plans to adopt the revisions at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the International Conference Centre, Enugu.

This was contained in an official statement dated July 18, 2025, and signed by the NBA General Secretary, Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara.

According to the notice, the Constitution Review Committee of the NBA, chaired by Abdul Mohammed, SAN, FCIArb. (UK), concluded its review process and submitted the proposed amendments to the NBA Constitution 2015 (as amended in 2021). The amendments were adopted at the last AGM held in Abuja on August 31, 2023.

“In accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, I hereby serve notice of these proposed amendments,” Dr. Ojibara stated.

He further announced that the motion to adopt the amendments will be considered during the Enugu AGM and urged members to review the attached proposals ahead of the meeting.

Importantly, only financial members in good standing and physically present at the AGM will be eligible to vote on the amendments.
